    Hi everyone,

when training we want to monitor our body’s metabolic state and we use heart rate as a proxy.

As far as I understand metabolic state and also body temperature are the two main drivers of heart rate. Could we maybe improve our proxy for metabolic state by controlling our heart rate for temperature? I recently came accross the following device which can track pulse and body temperature simultaneously. https://www.cosinuss.com/en/products/in-ear-sensors/

I wonder if anyone has experimented herself with similar devices or has heard of experiments that go in that direction. Beside the route to develop a power analogue for running it could be an alternative approach to make monitoring intensity zones for runners more objective. I am curious about your thoughts! 🙂

    Kind regards
    Christian

This is news to me and I do not have any experience with this device nor the ability to track core temp and HR.  I wonder if some studies are showing this product in use.
