A more personalized option than our stock plans, these plans are customized by an Evoke coach to fit your specific goals, fitness level, and time constraints. Plans are sold in 1-week blocks with a minimum of 6 weeks, and can be continued indefinitely.

You’ll want to have a heart rate monitor/GPS watch with chest strap. We’ll be sending you a link to a list of ones we like and how to connect that device to your TrainingPeaks account.

The process starts with a phone interview where you and the coach discuss decide if this is going to be a good fit.
Your coach will ask questions about your:
- Training history (past and current)
- Goals
- Time availability
- Injury history terrain
- Equipment you have access to
- Other relevant life details that will impact your training

Your training will be delivered in a calendar format on TrainingPeaks. It will be customized around the information your coach got from you in the initial intake call. It will be specific to your needs, constraints/goals, and laid out 1-2 weeks in advance.

We use TrainingPeaks the industry leader in providing online tracking of training. You will only need the free version. We upgrade you to premium as part of the coaching fee. Your coach will explain how this all works.

Yes! As part of a coaching plan, your coach will give you analysis and feedback on workouts. The primary channel of communication with your coach will normally be via Training Peaks, but text, email, and phone calls can all be arranged.

We feel that the more you understand about training theory and methodology the better you and your coach can manage your training. So, we can, if you are interested, share our knowledge.

While we are not dietitians, our coaches can give you basic nutritional advice and guidance. Further, we can refer you to a great dietician we have worked closely with for years.

For a coaching plan, you’ll be charged in full month increments using a recurring subscription with no partial month refunds.
Consult calls and customized training plans are fixed price, and not billed on a recurring subscription.

Meet the Evoke coaching team
We’re a team of mountain and endurance sports experts. We specialize in blending the art of coaching + the science of our proven methodology. We proudly help athletes of all levels and abilities maximize their potential and achieve their goals in the mountains and beyond, from beginner climbers to those seeking to reach the summit of Mt. Everest.
Each one of our coaches has been hand-picked and personally trained by Evoke founder, Scott Johnston. He onboards all new coaches and closely mentors them through a continuing education program.
Top-down instruction exists alongside peer-to-peer knowledge sharing during frequent coach summits, where coaches meet to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and problem-solve real-world athlete cases. Beyond a common training philosophy, each coach shares Scott’s passion for helping others and developing custom solutions to maximize each athlete’s potential.
Collectively, this group of coaches has helped dozens reach the summit of Mt Everest and K2 (including several without the use of supplemental oxygen) as well as other 8000 meter peaks.
