"Hi Scott, I just wanted to share that I followed your pacing advice and ended up with my first podium finish! Early on in the race I took a wrong turn and climbed the down route instead of the up route. I lost 7km and an hour of running and came out in last place. Fortunately, I ran the first half well under my aerobic threshold and had enough left in the tank for a huge push over thesecond half of the race to move through the field to 3rd position."

"Just wanted to reach out and say thank you, we had a call back in March I believe, about 2 months before a ski mountaineering trip to Pakistan. Your advice was instrumental in making sure I backed off a bit from long slow days and added in a little bit of intensity to maintain/increase ME. Thank you for what you do for the community, it has definitely elevated my abilities tenfold in the last 3-4 years."

"Maya is a fantastic trainer. She is kind, patient, warm and has always transmitted her positive energy through our video calls and messaging. She was able to take me-an out of shape, middle aged guy-to a fitness level where I was able to hike a challenging 5 day mountaineering expeditions. I could not have done it without her careful training plan, where she built me up, steadily and patiently, and without her constant support and encouragement. I would highly recommend Maya to anyone."

"As a newly pregnant outdoor adventurer, I have found personalized coaching with Kylee to be a game changer for both my mental and physical state. With my coach, I can continue to curate a healthy lifestyle through a training plan that balances both my personal and long-term fitness goals, while listening to my body during this new season of life. I feel grateful for this coaching experience, because my coach and her team are truly meeting me where I am at and through their coaching helping me become the very best future adventure-mom I can be."

"The summit was a success! Thanks for the wonderful training plan, motivation and feedback! Your training was perfect. My heart rate stayed in zone 1 70% of the time and zone 2 30%. What a magical experience!"

"Climbing Mount Baker has been a dream of mine for years. And even though with most things I am confident I can work hard and achieve the goal, I put this off for many years because I was scared of what mountaineering would be like and I knew I'd have to be in great shape.

Getting to work with you made me feel confident that I could do it. I knew I could trust in the plan you laid out to get me where I needed to be. I would not have managed these climbs (or even been confident enough to sign up for them) without you doing the advance planning and keeping me accountable. I hope you realize what an impact you have in helping people achieve their wildest outdoor dreams!"

"With Seth’s guidance and expertise, my endurance has improved dramatically. In addition, my overall energy levels have improved. While the HRZ training can be a little monotonous in the beginning, it has reduced downtime from injuries and substantially improved recovery. Seth has always been helpful in adjusting workouts to accommodate everything from jet lag to boredom. Two thumbs up."

"I can unreservedly recommend the team who runs Evoke Endurance. The level of integrity that runs through the whole outfit is both striking and rare. I really appreciate this type of training that encourages real listening to the whole body whilst taking in the context of life. My coach Maya is the best person I have ever worked with. She is highly attuned to the physical and the emotional whilst being deeply practical. Maya continues to help me find a way of training that takes in the undulations of my monthly cycle, life curveballs, work, family time and travel. She does so with an extraordinary level of empathy, care, and encouragement. I feel fully supported by my coach Maya and by the wider Evoke Endurance team. If you are hesitating to get started, I recommend jumping in with two feet. This team of coaches has got your back whatever your training goals or aspirations."

"Personalized coaching has added much more to my life than I ever expected. My goals were to improve my fitness to be more comfortable in the mountains doing simple things like Colorado’s 14ers, backcountry ski days, some local skimo races, and eventually, some bigger goals. Also, I am getting older, so longevity is a focus. I wanted to be building fitness rather than feeling like I was never getting anywhere on my own. The best parts of coaching with Kylee Toth: 1) the accountability, 2) Kylee is thinking about the big picture, and so I don’t need to (and is also making adjustments when life happens), 3) the support, 4) I am finally gaining fitness and strength after years of not, 6) when life gets crazy, I am not dropping the most important thing, looking after myself, 7) it’s varied and interesting, 8) it’s been really fun. My training sessions are the best parts of my week (with partner and dog often along for company, and sometimes kids, too). I’m really grateful for the coaching. It’s one of the best things I have ever done for myself."

"From the very start in January 2021, my 1:1 experience with Jack as my coach has been amazing. I was new to the mountaineering world and he went above and beyond the training programming to give me the extra support, knowledge, and confidence that I needed to make my two summer objectives a huge success (Grand Teton, Mt. Baker). So not only is the training program awesome, the quality of the coaches and customization to the athlete is even better! Thank you!!! You have created a mountain athlete now in me and a true believer!"

"Maya, I made it to 6850m on the Lhotse face close to Camp 3!! It was an incredible experience - THANK YOU YOU made a corporate desk person who lives in hotels and planes, with no athletic background or talent get to this amazing place - I cannot thank you enough for your support and guidance through these past 3+ years. I couldn’t have done it without you!! (who only wanted to see what Everest was like and and had no summit aspirations….for this trip anyway)."

"As a non competitive ultrarunner and climber, I thought, "I don't need a coach." I was wrong.

It took a life-or death situation for me to figureit out though. An especially badcase of Covid that attacked my respiratory system left me with acute respiratory distress. After 30 days in the ICU, I had lost over 40% of my lung capacity to scarring and neurological damage.

I spent another 16 weeks in intensive rehab learning to walk again—walk 40 yards that
is. It took me another 9 months to extend that to a mile, and then I plateaued. I spent 9
months trying to build up to running an aerobic mile at any pace, but I just couldn't get there.

I'd followed Scott Johnston since reading Training for the New Alpinism and reached out to him in desperation. Scott connected me to Leif. To say Leif steepened the recovery curve would be an understatement. Within 8 weeks I ran my first mile since the hospital, and I did it aerobically. 10 weeks after that I led a rock climb again and finished a 50K
trail race.

I came to coaching with two preconceived notions that I bet are pretty common:
1) Coaching is only for elite athletes.
2) I've studied the science and I know how to put together an optimal training plan. The
coach is just an expensive facilitator and accountability partner.

My experience with Evoke and Leif couldn't be more different. Specifically, Leif has invested the time to get to know me physically and psychologically. He often pushes me when I want to ease up and enforces some recovery when I'm running on all cylinders and get greedy for more. I think it's equal parts science and intuition, but both are backed with his investment in analyzing me and my performance data to make day to
day individualized coaching decisions.

For the first time in a long while, I'm dreaming big again—and that's priceless!"
