Welcome to Evoke Endurance! We are thrilled to be working with you. This article walks you through the steps you must complete before we can start coaching you.

Training Peaks Account: We use Training Peaks every day. You will receive your daily workouts and feedback from your coach through this platform. You must have this account set up and working correctly. Here are the two steps you need to complete:

  1. Create an account. If you already have an account, you can skip to step two. If you don’t, use this link: LINK

DO NOT upgrade your account to premium. This is included as part of your Evoke Endurance coaching fee.

Heart Rate Monitor and Watch

We recommend purchasing a heart rate monitor and a chest strap if you don’t already own one. You will use this to track your heart rate, mileage, pace, and workouts in general, which we, as coaches, will use for other fitness metrics. Here is a list of watches and apps that are compatible with TrainingPeaks.

At Evoke Endurance, we usually recommend Garmin, Suunto, Polar, or Coros watches. If you want to compare options and read reviews, check out DCRainMaker.com

If you are unsure about spending $500 on a watch (understandable), there are cheaper options, such as buying a Bluetooth chest strap that can pair with your smartphone. The Wahoo TICKR is an example of a chest strap and app we have used with athletes. Consult the list above to confirm that whichever device you choose is compatible with TrainingPeaks.

If you already have a watch or have purchased one, you must set it up using various apps to register it. Garmin uses Garmin Connect, Suunto uses an app called Movescount, Polar uses FLOW, etc.

Pairing with Training Peaks

Once your watch is synced and ready to use, the final step is pairing it to TrainingPeaks. You can use this list to find out how to pair each watch. Below are links to the most common watches we encounter.

Communication

 Our first line of communication will be through Training Peaks in the form of comments on your workouts. We recommend turning on push notifications so that you know when your coach comments. We will analyze your workouts and provide feedback along with adjustments as needed. Training Peaks is an incredible tool, and it is what allows for our remote coaching to be so successful. Additional communication will happen via texts, emails, and phone calls when needed.

Payment

Once paired with a coach, you will be sent a specific billing link connected to them. If you have questions about payment, reach out to billing@evokeendurance.com
