    Thanks for the comments/insights.  Its been fun to compare HR, Pwr, and my percieved exertion after an activity.  Numbers look reasonable so far.  Even plugging in 30# extra while hiking up an hour with a climbing pack seemed right.  Look forward to hearing more in the future.  Power doesn’t seem to be taking footborne sports by storm like it has in cycling.

    The step test described in the book and your talk is intriguing.  Curious if Scott can share any data from some athletes that used this and how it was applied to their training or correlated with their comments in their training logs.

    I also live in SLC and have easy access to ski.  I used the gym ME block training as part of my prep for a week long ski tour trip and found it very effective.  In general, muscle soreness was not too bad on that trip despite 8+ hours each day on the skis.  I was very careful during my prep to not overdo ME by realizing that a day backcountry skiing or resort skiing was like an ME workout so I often skipped the gym workout if those were within 5 days or if I noticed muscular DOMS feelings.
