    I notice that, in general, I have tight Achilles. Some days are worse than others. When they are super tight, they can actually cause my feet to start to feel numb on my longer runs. I think this tightness also translates up my calf into other tendons, as I will occasionally feel medial tibial stress (If I run the medial edge of the tibia I can feel an area about half way up that is quite tender).

    Dr. Andy, do you have any suggestions for this Achilles issue?

    James;

    Andy is on vacation right now. So, you’re stuck with me till he gets back.

    Have you tried Voodoo flossing of your calves?  If not it would be a cheap and most likely effective way of treating this problem.  There are tons of YouTube videos on the technique and bands are not very expensive. Look at this tutorial by Kelly Starret as he is the inventor.
