Get The Training That Works Best For You

Evoke Endurance was founded as a cooperative of coaches bound together by their adherence to the training philosophy of Scott Johnston, which is laid out in much detail in his two best-selling books: Training for the New Alpinism and Training for the Uphill Athlete. These coaches, all trained by Scott, are dedicated to helping the mountain athlete community through our various channels:  Free website articles, podcasts, forums, Book club, Coaches’ Corner, and Instagram training tips.  For those who need more, we offer three options.

Regardless of which option below that you choose, it will be based on the proven methods developed by Scott over a career spanning three decades of coaching, writing, and speaking.   These methods have helped tens of thousands of athletes, from world-class to total beginners, achieve their best.  The only difference between these three offerings is the level of individualization and service included.

We offer these three distinct options in order to best serve the widest range of mountain athletes.   However, at an even less costly level, an ambitious, careful person can absorb all the free information on the website, podcasts, and other media we provide and figure out how they want to guide their training.  To supplement that free information, a person would be advised to purchase and study either of Scott’s books.

When the idea of building your own training plan seems too daunting, you can step up to one of our other offerings.  These are listed and compared below.

  • Start by looking over our Stock Training Plans to see if one fits your needs and goals.  These plans can be modified and adjusted. If you need to do that, set up a phone consultation after you buy the plan.
  • If you need more individualization but don’t want daily coach feedback select the Custom Training Plan
  • If you need all the cards stacked in your favor, you will be best served by our Coaching

Standard Training Plan

$35-$75 per plan
  • 1. Standard Training Plans have been written by the Evoke Endurance coaches. Thousands of athletes have used them to reach their goals. They offer a proven, affordable alternative to our Custom Training Plan and Coaching
  • 2. Plan available on the Training Peaks platform. Does not include a premium subscription to Training Peaks.
  • 3. Athletes can post their questions on the Evoke Endurance Forum. Phone consultation with a coach at $60 per 30 minutes
  • 4. Plan Duration: 8-43 weeks

Custom Training Plan

$150 per 6-week plan
  • 1. A 6-week training plan that is customized by one of the Evoke Endurance coaches to fit your goals, fitness level, and time constraints. Can be continued indefinitely
  • 2. Plan available on the Training Peaks platform. Does not include a premium subscription to Training Peaks.
  • 3. 30min intake interview by your coach. 2 emails in the first week if plan adjustments are needed.
  • 4. Custom Plan buyers receive a 33% discount on mid plan phone consultations. That is $40 for each 30 minutes (rounded up to the next higher 15 minute segment).
  • 5. Does not include routine coach feedback or plan adjustments.
  • 6. We have athletes that have been on a custom plan for years and have used this plan to summit Mt Everest. It is a good option for the budget conscious.
  • 7. Plan duration: 6 weeks

Coaching

$350 per month
  • 1. This is day-to-day coaching. That means; while you and the coach will have a medium and long-term view of the overall progression, your training will be laid out in 1 to a maximum of 2-week blocks. Training is monitored daily, and when necessary, adjustments are made based on your feedback, your needs, life’s curve balls, and the coach's knowledge to optimize and maximize your gains. If you need to succeed, this will get you the best results.
  • 2. Plan available on the Training Peaks platform. Includes a premium subscription to Training Peaks.
  • 3. Athletes will have a one-hour intake call with a coach. The coach will provide daily feedback on Training Peaks and be available for a weekly phone call.
  • 4. Plan duration: Ongoing with monthly subscription
