The Grand Canyon Running Rim to Rim to Rim plan is a running plan for athletes who want to start training for this classic route. This is a 16-week plan that can be extended to 20+ weeks in the base period.

This plan is designed for an athlete who is already running around 20+ miles(32km)/week and getting in 2,500ft (760m) of elevation per week. If you are not at that stage with your training, we recommend modifying the first four weeks of this plan and repeating it until you are there. If you are starting with no training, we recommend you cut the weekly volume of aerobic work in half and increase the volume by roughly 10% each week until you can hit the requirements.

The weekly volume starts at 8hrs/week, with the largest volume week being 16:10hrs/week. You will be building your aerobic base, strength, power, and speed throughout this plan to prepare you for the 46 miles and 11,000ft of vertical you will be running.

You can always arrange a phone consultation with one or our Evoke coaches to help you customize any of our plans to suit your particular situation.
