This program is designed for women in midlife who want to feel strong, capable, and fully engaged in their bodies-while continuing to train with purpose and confidence.

Whether you’re preparing for big mountain objectives or simply want to move through this life transition with more energy and resilience, this plan meets you where you are. It is appropriate for a wide range of experience levels, from newer athletes to seasoned endurance performers.

The 12-week plan blends intentional strength training, aerobic development, and recovery strategies that reflect the physiological realities of midlife. Training is structured to build endurance, power, and durability while supporting bone health, muscle retention, and hormonal balance.

This is not a one-size-fits-all or “train harder” approach. The goal is sustainable progress—using evidence-based training principles to help you adapt, recover, and continue moving forward.

This plan is for women who want training rooted in science and intention—and who are ready to become stronger not just for the mountains, but for life.

Equipment Needed:

  • Heart rate monitor (strongly encouraged)
  • Access to weights, weight vest, or backpack
  • Treadmill (used occasionally)

Time Commitment:

  • Starts at approximately 5–7 hours per week
  • Progresses to a peak week of 10–12 hours
