Intermediate

This half-marathon plan is aimed at intermediate-level runners with a good recent training history. Ideally, you have been training for 5-6 hours per week consistently for at least 6 weeks, without major recent illness or injury. The plan will peak at around 60km per week.

It is ideal if you have a recent race result on which you can base your paces, though not essential and guidance will be given. A GPS watch and HR strap will be useful to make the most out of this plan.

We will use an Aerobic Threshold test in the first week to determine some of your training intensities. More information on this can be found here.

Whilst this plan is aimed primarily at those competing in a road half marathon, it is just as applicable to those competing in trail events of a similar distance.

You can always arrange a phone consultation to help you customize any of our plans to suit your particular situation.
