Just listened to the Markus Holler podcast episode and simultaneously in the market for a new watch. I’d like to know if the Garmin Forerunner 255 will work with the RunPowerModel app? Markus’ website says very generally “newer Garmins with barometer…” and the Garmin app site seems to indicate the 255, but also has some asterisks about needing storage on the music models for certain features. Can anyone provide clarification on this?

the FR 255 provides more than enough memory for RunPowerModel (I just checked). It was the FR 245 which in its non-music version had this limitation, such as many other older watches (but even the non-pro Fenix 6 if I remember correctly). With all the newer Forerunners and Fenix models this is not anymore a problem. And it even seems that the latest software update of the FR 255 now brings wrist-based running dynamics, which should improve the results of RunPowerModel in case no external sensor is connected.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Markus

Thank you for the reply, that confirmation is very helpful. I enjoyed your interview with Scott and am looking forward to working with run power.
