Gym Based ME Question

As part of my training my coach assigned me gym based muscular endurance. The protocol definitely made me feel stronger in my legs, my legs muscles had better endurance, and the stretching in the warm-up were very helpful to my overall feeling and range of motion. As I have done more specific weighted ME hikes I feel stronger, can go further, am more stable and have better posture as I progress up steep routes.
My question is about the split jump squats (what I called Russians in the 80’s) and squat jumps, 2 plyometric exercises I hadn’t done in decades. Are these power exercises not endurance exercises is my question? I had learned that exercises like the air squats, box step-ups, lunges, planks, burpees, get-ups would be ME when done in 3-5 sets with a minimum of 12 reps or 1 minute and up to unlimited reps/time with proper form to avoid injury. Combining stretching/range of motion, muscular endurance, and strength/power movements is an awesome protocol and I feel more confident in my ability to climb Denali as a result. I just wanted to know if my previous learning is very outdated in terms of what is a power exercise and what are endurance exercises.
The Gym ME as a protocol resulted in confidence building results outdoors on a mountain for me!

You are correct. Done in sufficient quantity (sets and reps) with minimal rest all those exercises will produce an ME effect. Many other exercises can be used to elicit a similar effect. I think I mentioned this in the ME article .
I’m really glad the ME work has given you more confidence for your upcoming Denali trip. It has worked for hundreds if not thousands of others so you’re in good company.
