    Hi guys,

I note on Power days in Block 2 there are hill sprints added. I’m looking for suggestions (or validation) on how to fit these in elsewhere, if possible. I’m based in the UK which is, for the most part, frustratingly flat. The hill I use is about 10 mins walk from home but my gym is a 30 min drive away.

So to ensure I can do both the hill sprints and the Power work programmed, without cooling down. I’ve been moving the sprints to the beginning of the Zone 2 session the previous day. This enables me to still do the sprints at some point, as well as completing the Power work and the Zone 2 session.

For additional context, I have the Power work typically done on a Saturday. As a busy dad and husband, my schedule on the weekends doesn’t allow for multiple sessions in a day. I have to get up at sparrow-fart o’clock to get one session in before family stuff.

Am I taking a considered enough approach? Is there a better way of programming this if I can’t do it on the Saturday? Grateful for your advice.

Yes, this approach seems perfectly reasonable.  The training must fit your schedule first and foremost because being able to do the work consistently is the only way you will see results.  Something to keep in mind about this plan or any “stock” training plan is that it is a one size fits all approach.  Which means it probably won’t fit anyone perfectly.  That is the reason we provide so much educational material in the books and on the site.  With that knowledge we want to empower you to make adjustments to the plan as needed.  Those adjustments can be due to scheduling challenges or fatigue.  So, pay attention to how the training is affecting you.  Are you seeing a slow and steady trend of progress (despite some days being not so great)?  If so then you are doing about the best you can without a coach.

From the sounds of it you are think about this in the right way. Keep up the good work.

    Scott
