Based in Missoula, Montana, Mike Foote is a professional mountain athlete who loves moving as efficiently as possible through large and complex landscapes.

Mike first began ultrarunning in 2009 and over the last 13 years has stood on the podium of many of the world’s most celebrated races, such as UTMB, Lavaredo, and the Hardrock 100. He also made the US skimo team for two world championship cycles, and, for a brief time, held the world record for most vertical feet climbed and skied under human power in 24hrs at 61,200 ft!

 

Mike is a father, husband, amateur sourdough baker, avid reader, and event promoter in his time off the trails. The Rut Mountain Runs in Big Sky, Montana is his biggest event of the year.
