Meet Maya Seckinger
Maya Seckinger was the very first person Scott hired to work for him at Uphill Athlete.
True to form, she was the first of the Uphill Athlete coaches to align with Scott when he announced he was leaving to start Evoke Endurance. She was mentored by Scott Johnston and was instrumental in helping him develop and refine many of the principles that have become core to our training philosophies.
Maya’s own athletic background is in cross-country skiing-racing on the national circuit, and NCAA Division 1 level through her university years. She has now branched into other mountain pursuits, running, climbing and skiing. Scott started coaching Maya at the age of 13; she has lived and breathed Evoke Endurance training methods ever since.
Maya’s athletes have had success on:
-
- Everest | Lhotse
-
- Denali | Aconcagua
-
- Rainier | Baker
She has also coached athletes for ultra-running races and other endurance goals. She is especially good at helping athletes get back to training after injury or long lay-offs. Maya is personable, detail-oriented, and fun to work with.
