Meet Matt Heyliger
As a climber, skier, and mountain enthusiast, I have focused a great deal of my time and energy on understanding the mechanics of the human body, specific to climbing and other mountain sports. I had the honor of working with the climbing community in Bozeman, Montana, from 2013 to 2021. While there, I developed and managed the Climbing Lab, a specialized clinic for rock climbers. Interested in broadening client access and my practice scope, I started Send Again in 2022 with an interest in serving the climbing and mountain athlete community more broadly with remote access to my services. Through this experience, I have realized that remote PT allows me to give more time to you, the client. This provides me an opportunity to use some hard-learned skills: guiding the transition from injury to appropriate training and return to sport.
In my time in Bozeman, I racked up thousands of PT visits with climbers and mountain athletes. Using a custom systems board, I did several hundred hours of video and movement analysis with climbers. This enabled me to gain extensive experience treating a variety of conditions and dialing in assessment, treatment approaches, programming, and exploring individual nuances with an athlete’s history and training that influence restoring optimal function. Essentially, I’m a huge geek when it comes to biomechanics and human movement, and I love teaming up with motivated athletes to help them find the best path forward.
The connection between mental health and physical health is a cornerstone that drives my life and practice. My hope is to join you on your healing journey, to help you emerge from your injury, and get you back out climbing and playing in the mountains more durable and psyched than ever before.
