Meet Jesse Rich
Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jesse Rich had a lot of fun in the mountains growing up. Skiing, biking, and camping were common hobbies for his family of seven.
Running didn’t come into his life until he was 22 years old. Although he liked about every sport invented, playing six sports in high school, he hated running. It was after returning from time abroad in South America that his brother invited him on a trail run that he became hooked. His passion for athletics and mountains collided and he found himself catching on quickly. Now, after eleven years Jesse has amassed 13 ultra podium finishes including Tushars 100k and 70k, Dead Horse 50 miler, Run Rabbit Run 50 miler, and a win at the Wasatch 100 miler and Squaw Peak 50 miler.
After graduating with a BA from Utah State University in Spanish, Jesse went on to receive his Master’s degree in Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. Jesse was first introduced to coaching when he accepted an internship from a trail running company. He worked with running athletes on their nutrition one-on-one and created health presentations as well. After receiving a job offer as a sports nutritionist in Portland, Jesse made the tough decision to move back home to be with family. He then joined a Naturopathic clinic to provide nutrition care to patients with a range of diseases including Hashimoto’s, diabetes, and liver disease. Missing the athletic space, Jesse created his own company to provide nutritional counseling to athletes. Through his company he also coached ultra runners and provided strength programs using his knowledge from his NASM certified personal training program. When not running or working, Jesse is usually hiking or traveling to southern Utah with his wife, two kids, and dog.
